Sunderland Harriers 5K, 9 July 2026

Blaydon Harriers runners headed to Silksworth Sports Complex on 9 July to take part in the ever-popular Sunderland Harriers 5K, one of the fastest and most competitive 5K road races on the North East racing calendar.

The event attracts runners of all abilities, from those chasing personal bests to athletes competing in regional championships, with the fast course offering the perfect opportunity for quick times. The race also incorporates the Northern Athletics and North East Masters Road Championships, helping to create strong and competitive fields throughout the evening.

Blaydon Harriers were well represented, with members taking on the fast and flat course in warm summer conditions. As always, there was a great atmosphere both on the course and around the finish area, with runners from clubs across the region coming together for an excellent evening of racing.
