REPORT AN INCIDENT OR CONCERN
At Blaydon Harriers, your safety and wellbeing matter. Whether you’re an athlete, parent, volunteer, official, or visitor, we want to make sure any concerns or incidents are reported and resolved quickly, fairly, and confidentially.
WHAT SHOULD YOU REPORT?
We encourage you to speak up if you see or experience:

Safeguarding concerns – anything that worries you about the welfare of a child, young person, or vulnerable adult.

Health and safety issues – accidents, near misses, hazards, or unsafe conditions.

Other complaints – issues related to conduct, fairness, inclusion, or how the Club is run.
WHO CAN REPORT?
Anyone involved with the Club – including parents, athletes, coaches, volunteers, officials, and visitors.

If someone is in immediate danger, call 999, then inform our Welfare Officers as soon as possible.

Urgent? Make sure the area is safe and get first aid or call 999 if needed. Our coaches have basic first aid training and we’re next to the urgent care centre.

RECORD KEEPING AND REVIEW
All reports go to the Committee and are stored securely. We keep them in line with data protection and safeguarding rules. The procedure is reviewed every year to keep it up to date.
