August's race round-up saw Blaydon Harriers represented across the fells, trails and roads, with members taking on events in the Lake District, Gateshead and Tynedale. From challenging climbs and scenic trail running to a strong top-five finish on the road.

Not Round Latrigg Fell Race

First up was the Not Round Latrigg Fell Race on 12 August 2026, where Jess represented the club in one of the Lake District's popular summer fell races. With a fast and challenging route featuring steep climbs, descents and spectacular views around Latrigg, the race provided a true test of fell-running ability.

Well done to Jess for taking on the challenge and flying the Blaydon colours in the Lakes.

Gateshead Trail 10K

At the Gateshead Trail 10K, Katja and Kate were in action on a course featuring a mix of scenic trails and testing off-road terrain.

Trail races always provide a different challenge from road running, and both runners put in strong performances while enjoying the fantastic atmosphere and support around the course.

Tynedale Jelly Tea 10 Mile

Meanwhile, at the ever-popular Tynedale Jelly Tea 10 Mile, Roselle continued her impressive running with another outstanding performance.

Competing in a strong field, Roselle finished as 5th female overall, a fantastic achievement over the challenging 10 mile distance and a result that reflects her hard work and consistency throughout the year.

Congratulations to all our runners who represented the club this month. Whether on the fells, the trails or the roads, it was great to see Blaydon Harriers competing across such a variety of events.
