Strong Start to the NEYDL Season at Whitley Bay, 19 April 2026

Blaydon Harriers juniors enjoyed a fantastic day of competition at the North East Youth Development League (NEYDL) fixture held at Whitley Bay on 19 April 2026, part of a joint team from Blaydon, Wallsend and Gosforth Harriers.

The NEYDL provides young athletes with the opportunity to compete across a wide range of track and field disciplines, gain valuable experience, and contribute points to their team in a supportive and competitive environment.

Our athletes produced some excellent performances throughout the day, showing great commitment, determination and team spirit. From sprinting and middle-distance races to jumps and throws, every competitor played their part in what was a successful start to the league campaign.

Events such as the NEYDL are a vital part of athlete development, giving young runners and field athletes the chance to test themselves against competitors from across the region while building confidence and experience.

A huge thank you goes to all the coaches, officials, volunteers and parents whose support helped make the event possible, as well as to everyone involved in hosting the fixture.
