NEHL Eltringham Cross Country, 10 October 2026
Blaydon Harriers were back in action on 10 October 2026 at the second cross country fixture of the North East Harrier League 2026/27 season, held at Eltringham.
With another well-supported turnout from the club, runners took on a challenging cross-country course featuring a mix of grass, mud and undulating terrain. The Harrier League always delivers competitive racing, but what makes it special is that it welcomes runners of all abilities, from experienced racers to those trying cross-country for the very first time.
The men's team continued their strong start to the season with another impressive performance. Every position counts in cross-country, and it was great to see so many Blaydon Harriers competing .
One of the best things about the Harrier League is that you don't need to be an elite runner to take part. The handicap start system gives everyone the opportunity to race competitively, and the supportive atmosphere means it is a fantastic introduction to club racing. Whether your goal is to compete, improve your fitness, or simply experience something different from road running, cross-country has something to offer.
If you've never given the Harrier League a try, we'd encourage you to come along to a future fixture. You'll find plenty of support from teammates, a welcoming environment and perhaps discover a new favourite type of racing.
Well done to everyone who represented the club at Eltringham and helped continue a promising start to the 2026/27 season. We look forward to the next fixture at Lambton on 24 October and hope to see even more black and amber hoops on the start line.
