Kielder Marathon Weekend, 4 October 2026
It was another fantastic weekend of racing for Blaydon Harriers as members headed to Northumberland for the Altra Kielder Marathon Weekend 2026.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Kielder Water and Forest Park, the event is renowned for its scenic routes, challenging terrain and incredible atmosphere, attracting runners from across the country to take on a variety of distances.
Blaydon Harriers were represented in both the 10K and Half Marathon, with members producing some excellent performances across the weekend. Whether chasing a time, tackling the course for the first time or simply enjoying the experience, everyone showed great determination and represented the club brilliantly.
A special congratulations goes to Eleanor, who delivered an outstanding run in the Half Marathon, securing an impressive 2nd place finish. To achieve a podium position at such a popular and competitive event is a fantastic accomplishment.
The Kielder weekend is a highlight of the autumn racing calendar, combining challenging courses with some of the most spectacular scenery in the region, and it was wonderful to see so many Blaydon Harriers taking part.
Congratulations to all our runners who competed in the 10K and Half Marathon. You should be incredibly proud of your achievements and of the way you represented the club.
