Yesterday saw Blaydon Harriers out in force on Newburn Riverside, 16 women’s teams, 5 men’s teams and loads of juniors competed in the Eslwick Good Friday Relays. An excellent day out! Blaydon senior men finished 13th. George Rudman, Jack Boaden, Peter Hodgson and Matthew Alderson. First Blaydon women’s team were the Vet A team of Claire Collinson, Roselle Oberholzer and Gillian Hauxwell, they finished 23rd team and 8th Vet team.
Same as last year, lots of people making their debut for Blaydon, some their second debuts. Nice to see our club captain, Alan Dent running in this event again. The club is definitely expanding fast! Fastest times
Men. George Rudman 11:16 Women. Claire Collinson 14:19
Huge thanks to Bernie and Eric for their organisational skills and of course to Dan for his coaching. Unfortunately the junior results are not in yet. Magic moment of the day, three generations of Oberholzer/Ramshaws all running for the Bees today. Roselle has re-joined the club, with her daughter Joanne and son-in-law James, and her young grandson, Joseph in the juniors.
A good Blaydon day out.
