Blaydon Race Unveils New Identity Inspired by Geordie Heritage
As the Blaydon Race looks ahead to its 45th edition and an exciting new partnership with BETTER, a fresh new brand identity has been launched that celebrates the race's rich history while looking confidently to the future.

Developed in collaboration with North East design studio Channels.agency, the new identity draws inspiration from many of the traditions and symbols that have made the Blaydon Race such an iconic part of North East culture. Influences include the historic Blaydon Bell, the famous "Blaydon Races" song, the distinctive hoops of Blaydon Harriers & AC, and the unmistakable spirit, pride and humour of the Geordie community
One of the most distinctive features of the new design is the subtle inclusion of "9/6" within the logo, recognising the race's unique connection to the Ninth of Joon. Regardless of the day of the week, the Blaydon Race is always held on 9 June, making the date an enduring part of its identity.
