Blaydon Race Raises £8,000 for Local Charities

One of the greatest legacies of the Blaydon Race is the positive impact it has beyond race day, and we are delighted to announce that this year's event raised an incredible £8,000 for charity.

Thanks to the support of our runners, volunteers, sponsors and spectators, we were able to present £4,000 to Red Sky Foundation and £4,000 to Smile Through Sport, helping both organisations continue their outstanding work across the North East.

Blaydon Race Supporting Red Sky Foundation

We were delighted to present our Charity Partner, Red Sky Foundation, with a cheque for £4,000.

Red Sky Foundation is a North East charity dedicated to supporting babies, children and adults living with heart conditions. The charity funds life-saving cardiac equipment, installs defibrillators in communities, schools and sports clubs, and provides practical and emotional support to families facing heart-related challenges.

The work carried out by Red Sky Foundation has made a real difference to countless lives across the region, and we are proud that the Blaydon Race has been able to contribute to that vital mission.

Blaydon Race Supporting Smile Through Sport

We were equally pleased to present £4,000 to Smile Through Sport, a charity that provides sport, fitness and training opportunities for disabled people across the North East.

Through inclusive coaching, sporting sessions and development programmes, Smile Through Sport helps participants build confidence, improve wellbeing and access opportunities that might otherwise be unavailable. Their commitment to making sport accessible to all aligns closely with the values of participation, inclusion and community that are at the heart of the Blaydon Race.
