Blaydon Harriers were well represented across the events at the Newcastle Gateshead Half Marathon, 10k and Junior Races on Sunday 3 May 2026, with strong performances, podium placings and plenty of club pride on show throughout the weekend.

In the full marathon, Faye McTeer, one of the club’s Induction Group Coaching Assistants, took on the tough 26.2 mile challenge. Faye completed the course in 5:16:56, finishing 18th in the V35 category. A huge achievement over the marathon distance and great to see coaches leading by example.

In the Half Marathon, John Richardson produced a strong and well‑paced run, finishing in 1:34:11. John placed 50th Senior Male and 86th overall in a competitive field.

The 10k saw several Blaydon Harriers delivering excellent performances. Josh Steel led the club home, finishing in 39:09 to place 23rd Senior Male and 22nd overall. Rosie Bunney produced an outstanding run, finishing 2nd Senior Female and 4th female overall, with a time of 45:46. Jessica Levy ran strongly to finish in 52:49, after last week's ultra and Nicola Alderson completed the 10k in 54:45, finishing 7th in the V40 category.

Blaydon Harriers were also represented in the Junior Races, with Abby Gascoigne taking part in the Under 13 event and finishing in 4th place in 3:50, continuing the club’s presence across all age groups.

Congratulations to everyone who took part across the weekend, whether racing, supporting or cheering from the side lines. It was a fantastic showcase of Blaydon Harriers at events of all distances, highlighting the depth, commitment and community spirit within the club.
