NECAA Track and Field Championships, 10 May 2026

Congratulations to all of our junior athletes who represented Blaydon Harriers at the NECAA Track and Field Championships this weekend. Competing against some of the region's best young athletes, our juniors produced a series of fantastic performances and personal bests.

Abigail McLaughlin continued her excellent progress with a new personal best in the U14 Girls 200m, earning her place in the final after a strong qualifying performance.

In the field events, Daniel McGuirk achieved new personal bests in both the U14 Discus and Shot Put, demonstrating the rewards of his hard work and dedication.

Middle-distance runner James Cathey delivered an outstanding run in the 1500m, claiming a silver medal and setting a new personal best in the process.

There was also a superb weekend for Aaron Jobson, who secured silver medal honours and a new PB in the 100m hurdles before returning on Sunday to take gold in the 300m hurdles, capping off a brilliant championship performance.

These achievements are a testament to the commitment and determination shown by our young athletes, coaches, and supporters. Whether setting new personal bests, reaching finals, or standing on the podium, every athlete should be proud of their efforts.

A huge well done to everyone who competed and represented Blaydon Harriers so brilliantly. We look forward to seeing what the rest of the season brings!
