The Quayside was the place to be on Wednesday 23 April 2025, with a fantastic night of racing at the Quayside 5k. Blaydon Harriers were right in the thick of it, and it was brilliant to see so many of our runners smashing their goals!

The evening featured two fast and competitive races – the Terry O’Gara A-Race for sub-20-minute runners and the B-Race, supported by pacers targeting times from 20 to 50 minutes. The flat riverside course, with its famous bridges and buzzing 🐝 atmosphere, proved perfect for quick times once again.

A huge shout out to Chris Ashall, who put in the hard work and was rewarded with his first sub-20 5k! 💪 It was an amazing moment and a great example of where consistent training can take you. David Graham also deserves a special mention for his impressive performance, finishing first in his age category! 🏅

There were plenty of other personal bests too, showing just how strong our athletes are looking this season. Whether you were chasing a new PB, pacing a teammate or just soaking up the atmosphere, every Blaydon vest made us proud.

Well done to everyone who raced and thank you to RunThrough and all the volunteers for putting on such a brilliant event.
