A brilliant morning was had by Blaydon Harriers at the Denton Dene Parkrun social on Saturday 28 March, combining running, celebration and cake.
There were some fantastic achievements to celebrate on the day. Nicola Alderson claimed the unofficial title of most experienced parkrunner in attendance, with an incredible 531 parkruns completed, a truly inspirational total. A big congratulations also to Paul Hopkinson, who marked his 150th parkrun milestone, a great achievement and one very worthy of celebration.
The morning also came with a splash of humour, as Michael Beirne kicked off his stag do in style, running the course in a tuxedo… well, half a tux at least! It certainly brought smiles and plenty of encouragement from fellow runners and volunteers alike.
It was great to see so many club members out supporting each other, celebrating milestones and enjoying the social side of running that parkrun does so well. Events like this really highlight the sense of community and camaraderie within Blaydon Harriers, whether you’re chasing times, ticking off milestones or just enjoying a run with friends.
A fantastic way to spend a Saturday morning – well done to everyone who took part and made it such an enjoyable social event. 🐝
