Blaydon Harriers athletes put in outstanding performances at the Kingdom of Northumbria Coastal Ultra on Sunday 8 March 2026, a challenging and scenic ultra‑distance event along the North East coastline.
A huge congratulations to Hedley Fletcher, who produced a superb run to finish second overall in a highly competitive field. A remarkable achievement over such a demanding course and a testament to Hedley’s strength, endurance and preparation.
There was also a brilliant result for Jess Levy, who finished 3rd in her age category, joint 6th female, and 29th overall. Jess’s performance showed great determination and consistency throughout the race, delivering a strong result against tough conditions and stiff competition.
The event was once again superbly organised by Wild Deer Events, led by Dan Flint, who has strong connections with Blaydon Harriers. It's fantastic to see Wild Deer Events go from strength to strength.
Well done to both runners for representing Blaydon Harriers so strongly at this iconic ultra event. Performances like these highlight the depth of talent within the club across all distances and disciplines.
