Great North Run, 13 September 2026
The Great North Run once again brought thousands of runners to the streets of the North East, and Blaydon Harriers was proud to have a fantastic turnout of members taking part in this iconic event.
From the excitement of the start line to the unforgettable finish on the South Shields seafront, our runners embraced everything that makes the Great North Run such a special occasion. Whether chasing a personal best, running for charity, or simply enjoying the experience, every member represented the club with determination, commitment and plenty of Blaydon pride.
The atmosphere throughout the course was, as always, incredible. The support from spectators, volunteers and fellow runners helped carry participants through the 13.1 mile challenge, creating another memorable day for everyone involved.
Taking on a half marathon is no small achievement, and the months of training, early morning runs and dedication that go into preparing for race day should not be underestimated. Every Blaydon Harrier who crossed the finish line should be immensely proud of their achievement.
Congratulations to all our members who took part in the Great North Run 2026. You represented the club superbly and demonstrated the spirit, resilience and camaraderie that make Blaydon Harriers such a special club.
Well done, everyone!
