Blaydon Harriers Take on the Newburn River Run, 17 June 2026

Blaydon Harriers headed to the Newburn River Run on 17 June 2026, joining runners from across the region for one of the North East's popular midweek road races.

Hosted by Elswick Harriers, the event follows a fast, flat five-mile out-and-back route along the paths of Riverside Park and the Wylam Waggonway, making it a favourite for runners chasing personal bests as well as those looking to enjoy a competitive summer evening race.

With ideal running conditions and a great atmosphere throughout the course, Blaydon Harriers athletes produced a range of impressive performances, representing the club with determination and enthusiasm from start to finish.

As always, the Newburn River Run showcased the strength of the local running community, with runners, volunteers, marshals and supporters all playing their part in another successful event.
