Blaydon Harriers enjoyed a fantastic morning of team racing at the Elswick Harriers' Good Friday Relays on Friday 3 April 2026, one of the most popular and eagerly anticipated fixtures in the local running calendar.
As always, the relays brought together clubs from across the region for a morning of fast, competitive racing combined with a brilliant social atmosphere. Blaydon Harriers were well represented throughout the event, with athletes giving their all for their teams and supporting one another around the course.
The relay format created plenty of excitement, with quick changes, determined legs and lots of encouragement from teammates and spectators alike. It was great to see runners of all abilities proudly pulling on the club vest and contributing to strong team performances.
After the racing, many of our athletes headed to Tyne Amateur Rowing Club for a relaxed club social, providing the perfect opportunity to unwind, share stories from the race and enjoy time together off the course. These moments are just as important as the racing itself and highlight the strong sense of community within the club.
A big thank you to Elswick Harriers for organising another well‑run and welcoming event, and well done to everyone who took part and represented Blaydon Harriers with such commitment, enthusiasm and team spirit.
