Thank you for making the Start Fitness Blaydon Race 2025 a huge success!

That’s the 2025 edition of the Start Fitness Blaydon Race all wrapped up and what a day it was! Despite the rain, the energy, smiles, and community spirit were as strong as ever. Once again, Blaydon Harrier and Athletics Club would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who made this iconic North East event happen.

To our incredible volunteers—you are the beating heart of the Blaydon Race. From marshalling and handing out water to helping with registration and cheering on runners—you stood out in the rain for hours without missing a beat. We really couldn’t hold this race year after year without your dedication, good humour, and generosity. You are all fantastic, and we are so grateful for your support. A big thank you also goes to our section leaders, who ensured our volunteers were well looked after on the day.

We’re always looking for ways to make the Blaydon Race experience even better—both for runners and volunteers—so if you have any feedback, suggestions, or ideas, we’d love to hear them. And if this year’s experience has inspired you to get more involved in race planning or the wider work of the club, we’d be delighted to welcome you aboard!

This year, we were proud to support two brilliant charity partners: Smile Through Sport and Red Sky Foundation. Each charity received £4,000, raised through generous donations from runners and supporters.

Thank you to everyone who donated, your generosity is helping these two amazing charities continue their vital work across the North East.

We’re already looking ahead to the 44th edition of the Blaydon Race, which will take place on Tuesday 9th Joon 2026. Mark your calendars—it’s going to be another special one!
