On Saturday 21 June 2025, two of our masters' athletes, David Mitchinson and Doreen Craig, proudly represented Blaydon Harriers at the North East Masters Athletics Association (NEMAA) Track and Field Championships held at Monkton Stadium.
David competed in the M70 category and delivered an incredible performance, claiming gold in three events. He smashed personal bests in both the 800m (3:22.48) and the 1500m (6:40.33), and also took gold in the 3000m with a fantastic time of 15:09.54. David’s determination and endurance truly stood out and made us all proud.
Doreen excelled in the W70 category, securing gold across five events. She set a new personal best and championship record in the 100m, clocking 16.79 seconds. She also won gold in the 200m (37.11), 400m (1:30.07), and the javelin with a throw of 11.75m. Her versatility and skill across both track and field events were inspiring to watch.
Huge congratulations to David and Doreen for their fantastic achievements. Their commitment and passion for athletics continue to inspire the whole Blaydon Harriers community.
Well done!
