NEHL Lambton Estate Cross Country, 20 October 2024

Despite concerns over Storm Ashley's heavy rain and high winds, over 1,300 runners turned up at the NEHL Lambton Estate cross country, the second fixture of the season, eager to make up for Druridge Bay’s cancellation.

Well done to all the Blaydon athletes who turned out to represent the Club, they put in excellent performances on a tough course. The under-17 men’s race saw a strong showing from Blaydon’s own Jamie Lonergan, who pulled ahead on the final lap to secure victory.

In the junior ranks, our young athletes braved the weather to compete in one of the league’s toughest cross-country circuits (that hill!). We had a fantastic turnout from our Juniors, with our U11s facing the worst of the weather, not that they let that deter them. Brilliant running from all!
