On 27 April 2025, some of our club members took on the challenge of two of the UK’s biggest marathons, London Marathon and Manchester Marathon, and they did us proud!

London Marathon

In London, Sam Hodgson led the way with an impressive time of 2 hours 36 minutes. Not far behind were Alex Muir finishing in 2:43 and James Dias clocking 2:50. On the ladies’ side, Abbie Lewis ran a brilliant 3 hours 22 minutes, and Suzie Keys crossed the line in 4 hours 33 minutes. What a fantastic effort from everyone!

Manchester Marathon

Over in Manchester, Emma Cartwright smashed it with a strong finish time of 3 hours 16 minutes. A huge well done to Emma for representing the club so well.

Running a marathon is tough, and seeing our club members take on these challenges with such determination is inspiring. Whether you were aiming for a personal best or just enjoying the experience, you’ve done us all proud.

Thanks for flying the Blaydon Harriers flag so well. We can’t wait to see what you all go on to achieve next!

Keep up the great work and happy running!
