Exciting News – The Junior Blaydon Race 2026 is Back!

Blaydon Harrier and Athletics Club is buzzing to announce the return of the Junior Blaydon Race, proudly sponsored by Project Groundwater Northumbria! The event will take place on Tuesday 9 June 2026, ahead of the main Blaydon Race.

🌿 Location: Shibdon Road Nature Reserve, Blaydon

🌿 Surface: Multi-terrain!

Race Categories:

🔹 1 Mile – Ages 8–11 (17:30 start)

🔹 5K – Ages 12–15 (17:50 start)

Each junior racer will receive:

🏅 Unique Junior Blaydon Race 2026 finishers medal

🎽 Custom race number

⏱️ Chip-timed result

🥤 Drink and snack

♻️ Sustainable mementos

🏆 Plus prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd places.

Entry Details:

• £5 entry fee

• Limited to 250 (1 Mile) and 200 (5K) runners

• Ballot entry system will be used due to high demand

• Successful Runners Notified and Payment Window Opens: 23 March 2026
