Three of our talented young athletes proudly represented their county on Saturday 21 June 2025 at the English Schools Athletics Association (ESAA) Regional Track and Field event, held at Middlesbrough Sports Village, and what a brilliant day they had!

Aaron Jobson stormed to a fantastic 2nd place finish in the hurdles, showing real strength and composure under pressure. Not far behind, Georgie Herdman delivered a confident run to finish 4th in the same event, an excellent performance against strong competition.

In the 1500m, James Cathey put in a standout performance, crossing the line in 2nd place with a superb new personal best of 4:20.44. His efforts have earned him a well-deserved spot at the ESAA Championships in Birmingham this July, and we couldn’t be prouder.

Competing at this level is a huge achievement in itself, and all three athletes showed determination, focus, and a brilliant team spirit throughout the day. James now prepares to take on the best young runners in the country and we’ll all be cheering him on from Blaydon!

A huge well done to Aaron, Georgie, and James—you’ve done yourselves, your schools, and Blaydon Harriers proud. We look forward to seeing what you do next!
