About the event
The Blaydon Race was first held in 1981, the 5.9 mile route is based on the lyrics to the 1862 song by George 'Geordie' Ridley - 'The Blaydon Races'.
A celebration of the North East's running community, local culture and heritage, The Blaydon Race is organised by Blaydon Harrier and Athletics Club.
